We have been learning how to write a recount. When we are writing a recount we are thinking carefully about answering: who? what? when? where? why? and how?
We are trying to use different words to 'and' and 'said.' Here is an example of a recount:
When I was eleven years old my uncle came over to my house with a strange yellow box. I was very curious about what was in the mysterious box! I crept up to the box and slowly peeped inside... two sparkly eyes looked back at me. They were the cutest eyes I had ever seen! "Meet Elsie, your new dog," whispered Uncle Marcus.
